As a McCollum constituent, I can't believe she doesn't regularly face credible primary challengers. Name a single McCollum signature issue or bill from her 25 year tenure. I'll wait.

Sometimes very hard not to feel like the rest of the country has abandoned Minnesota. We STILL have ICE everywhere. Our schools, businesses, and economy are in profound crisis. But without Bovino here throwing tear gas, much of the country seems to not care at all what’s being done to us.

MN has caucuses & primaries. Parties use caucuses to select delegates for local/state conventions. At the state conv, delegates vote on endorsements for statewide office (eg, gov, senate, ag). Voters vote in the Aug primary to choose who will be on the ballot. Tonight is precinct caucus night.

Just a note for non-MN people: Chris Madel was an also-ran. His primary claim to fame came a couple years ago when he successfully represented a state trooper in a deadly use of force case. But he never had a real chance at the nomination in today's MNGOP. This isn't a portent of the dam breaking.

Although Nekima Levy Armstrong has many detractors in MN, I think this is going to be a turning point. She has a large, dedicated following, including a large portion who are White and live in the suburbs and exurbs.

Forcing ICE of Minneapolis will take bold action. We need labor organizing for strikes and shutdowns to interrupt the economy and force a change of course until we can all live free from the fear of being kidnapped or shot by armed agents.

Quick rule of thumb re MN: if you don't know what the "F" stands for in "DFL" without looking it up, maybe you shouldn't be telling Minnesotans what they should be doing re the DFL or who is/is not "authentic."

As a Minnesotan, it's endlessly aggravating to see all these "experts" and "strategists" parachuting in to "help," just like they did in 2020, while pushing all the people aside (most of whom are Black and Brown people) who have been and continue to do the actual work of organizing on the ground.

There is no program. This is a grift. The actual things that have been done--like the Attorney General and Henn Co Attorney creating a portal for people to submit info re the murder of Renee Good, or Walz encouraging people to document ICE's abuses--were not DFL ideas or DFL-driven.
