I get why this view is attractive to peopleāit gives them a false sense of control. But in reality, we canāt really control whether we get MS, cancer, etc. Even non-smokers get lung cancer. People who do not have obesity get diabetes. Better to seek evidence-based treatments than live in delusion.

Thereās no amount of diet and exercise that will prevent things like cancer and autoimmune diseases. Obviously the choices we make do matter to some extent, but wellness influencers are selling is an illusion of control thatās maliciously deceptive and harmful.
