Over the weekend ICE abducted an NIH contractor when he showed up to a courthouse for his green card hearing. He is documented. His wife is a citizen. He is also member of the skeleton crew of animal care staff that works through a shutdown, to ensure the health and wellbeing of research animals.

A judge blocked Trump from sending Oregon's National Guard into Portland. That same judge then blocked Trump from deploying California's National Guard to Portland instead. This isn't a "left wing" judge â Trump appointed her. Says a lot about Trump's authoritarian power grab.

Coincidentally, another group published results today on a very similar question: What research wouldn't have gotten done had the NIH's budget been cut by 40%, as Trump proposed? Under that scenario, NIH-funded research on more than half of 557 drugs approved 2000-2023 would have never happened!
