When over 100 former astronauts are speaking out about the direction the country is going—it's time to listen. We served our country because we love it, and we’re concerned about the serious erosion of checks and balances happening.

On Memorial Day, Astronauts For America remembers all of the brave fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Their patriotism is not forgotten, and we are grateful for their courage in defense of the values we hold dear.

We trained for years to follow procedures, trust science, and respect expertise. We took an oath to defend the Constitution. When those values aren't being followed by our leadership, silence isn't an option. That's why we started Astronauts For America.

We’re not here to advance any party's agenda. Our mission is patriotism: defend democratic values, support principled leaders, and safeguard our republic before we lose it for good.

For too long, we've seen declining trust in government, attacks on the separation of powers, and challenges to due process. These small erosions of constitutional values compound. It's up to us to speak out and work together for change.

We launched Astronauts For America because sitting idly by and watching what's happening in our country just wasn't enough. We've never been on the sidelines, and it's our patriotic duty to stand up.

John Glenn's legacy reaches beyond space. As a senator, he built a reputation for integrity, pragmatism, and bipartisanship. He worked across party lines to advance science, accountability, and public trust in our government. We've gotta get back to that.

America began with a dream that ordinary people can accomplish the extraordinary. That's the American spirit, and it’s who we are. It's time we remember what makes us great and defend it together.

We're focused on protecting American constitutional democracy for the long term. Democracy is more fragile than most realize, and public trust in government has declined. Our mission is to strengthen public understanding of constitutional principles and civic responsibility.

When @astro-g-dogg.bsky.social was a kid, he dreamed of becoming an astronaut. He co-founded Astronauts For America to keep that dream alive for all the other young people who feel called to serve and explore.

We are committed to and stand for science, public service, and the rule of law. We support leaders who use evidence, respect the Constitution, and work across divides, because the stakes are too high for anything less.

What kind of America do we want for ourselves, and for our children and grandchildren? The time to stand up for the ideals and values we hold dear isn't tomorrow. The time to stand up is now.

Astronauts For America condemns the attack at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, and all political violence. In our constitutional republic, disagreements must be resolved through participation, dialogue, and the rule of law—not violence.

Our mission is the country.

Our country is in desperate need of leadership who work across differences to solve problems. Astronauts For America is nonpartisan. We’re Republicans, Democrats, independents, and everything in-between. More unites us than divides us, and it’s on us to come together.

From space, we saw what unites us is more important than what divides us. But right now our political leadership is divided and isn’t living up to the constitutional values we swore to defend—and that’s why we launched Astronauts for America.

We believe most Americans share a commitment to democracy, civil discourse, and the Constitution. These aren’t partisan ideals. They’re the principles our nation was founded on. These principles are what sets America apart, and they’re worth defending.

We are the country that set foot on the moon. We are the land of opportunity. We are the American dream. Today, those ideals are being challenged. But we can stand up for them. Will you join us?

Our members have lived their oath through service at NASA and in the U.S. armed forces. There’s a deep sense of duty to the patriotic values and principles we have spent our careers and lives defending. It’s mission critical that we continue the fight for these values.

America should lead the world in scientific endeavors. We have the best and brightest, and we’ll always advocate for NASA to receive the funding it needs to help us stay on top.

The Constitution and rule of law are serious. They’re not suggestions, and we need to get back to a place where this is respected. It’s the foundation of our country.

As former astronauts, we know that truth, science, and teamwork aren’t optional. Ignoring evidence in space costs lives. In democracy, ignoring evidence costs trust, stability, freedom and the health and well-being of the people. This work is patriotic, not partisan.
