Most oxytocin genetic studies investigate the link between oxytocin receptor gene variants + phenotypes of interest (usually in small samples). Here we took a different approach by investigating the genetics of the brain structures that *produce* oxytocin, in a sample of over 39k people

If you’re going to write a tutorial paper describing a tool or method, it makes a world of difference showing the paper to someone unfamiliar with the tool and asking them to recreate the examples. Some of these papers can be really tricky to follow

When dealing with a large number of supplementary materials for a manuscript, it seems much easier to put these on OSF or Zenodo instead of with the paper itself. Are there any drawbacks to this approach? Only one I can think of is if these projects get incorrectly flagged as spam?

I don’t remember a null result ever being mentioned during my undergrad psych degree, it seemed that everything just worked! Psych researchers back in the day were *that* good, apparently. It’s great to see things have improved since then
