Just ran my first big boss battle using the D&D 2024 rules, & I’m a big fan of the streamlined stat blocks especially for spell casters. It was a fulfilling 2 hours that allowed me to also build narrative tension while not having to carry the mental load of too many options.

A little(?) life update: I've been back in Canada since July living the life of a digital nomad while also solo parenting a six-year-old and trying to sponsor my partner to join us here eventually. My mental health has improved at the expense of my financial health.

It’s been 35+ degrees Celsius in a house with no A/C and the portable fan died this morning. Discovered just how ridiculous the Instacart upcharge is compared to store prices. In store sale fan: $34. Instacart checkout price $50. 🫠
