End fossil fuels now. They're really not worth it. Why do I say this? The figure on the bottom right is what's projected to happen to Europe in 24 years on our current emissions trajectory. We keep getting hotter until we stop burning fossil fuels. Heating is irreversible on human timescales.

Leaving aside campaigning in red states, the argument that Democrats should drop climate is wrong. 1) It is dumb to drop a platform that the majority support & that your opponent is absolutely terrible on. 2) We do need to get to net zero now in order to halt heating at a relatively safe level. 🧵

My feedback: "The guidance does not recognize, let alone address, the impact of its planned AI-use on either climate/environment or labor/employment. Until such impact study has been conducted + publicly shared, any AI-use would be unjustified + irresponsible and should be subject to a moratorium."

Once again, @governor.ny.gov has betrayed NY's families, this time by weakening our state climate law. Clearly, she doesn't care whether our children survive, so long as her fossil fuel & tech donors are happy. Shame on Hochul for sacrificing OUR children for her donors.
