Sometimes, many years later, I am by the water and reminded of the first time I went to Greece, the sea governed by absolute blue, the sun gold leaf on the waves, a world away from the Atlantic, except for those exceptional days out west when Connemara wears the air of the Greek islands

What do this ancient oak, this swallowtail, this natterjack have in common? 1) They live on Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserves. 2) They benefit from people buying This Wild Dream. ALL profits go to NWT (nothing to me). Help us celebrate NWT’s centenary TODAY

Today, March 20th, is World Rewilding Day! The thing is with rewilding, it doesn't just have the power to reverse nature loss, but to bring immense meaning, wonder and joy to the lives of all those who engage. After nearly 17 years myself, I can tell you it just keeps on getting better and better.

It's hard to believe that just 15 years ago, this was virtually empty space, with none of the native trees, epiphytic mosses, yellow flag, reed buntings, bullfinches, or other life now present, and increasing in diversity year on year. Rewilding is how we reverse nature loss in Ireland.

People ask me how I feel on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, when bombs began to fall on peaceful cities and columns of RU tanks marched on Kyiv. To be honest, nothing special. Just another day of war, which has become part of our lives. And destroyed everything we call normal life.

Political donations = corruption. Super-rich buy influence and power. Parties reward them - organize threatening issues off the agenda, provide tax perks to the rich, crony contracts, VIP lanes, honours. Can't have democracy without banning political donations.
