A naturalistic lo-fi ghost story about how grief can consume survivors of a tragedy, and how we struggle to impose a narrative on something senseless in hopes of shaping its incoherence. Banfitch and his mother have an honest natural chemistry as they grapple with the enormity of their situation.

Something I think about a lot is the line from Crimson Peak: “It’s not a ghost story, it’s a story with ghosts.” Great way to describe this movie. Fall Set northeastern lofi found footage that’s Haunting, beautiful and eerie as hell. So glad more people get to see this now.

Tinsman Road is another banger from Banfitch that is 110% worth the price of admission. Lots of emotion and scares but this time with a back-to-basics approach to found footage that I wish we saw more of in the 2020s. Watch it now while you can!

Part of why @robbiebanfitch.bsky.social’s TINSMAN ROAD works so well, and has only grown in my mind ever since I saw it, is its utter lack of pretense. It manages to feel unrehearsed, unscripted, unstructured. Almost banal. You forget it’s fake. That’s hard to pull off. Tropes, meanwhile, are easy.

Saw five features at Nightmares Film Festival this weekend The one that most knocked me on my ear was @robbiebanfitch.bsky.social’s Tinsman Road A slow burn found footage movie with a hell of a climax. Every part of the film feels real and raw. Dude is 2 for 2 now

I can’t stop thinking about Tinsman Road. A very scary, very sad, very very effective horror movie. Actually left me shaking. Put it on your watchlist, find a local screening, do whatever you gotta do to see it.

Go see Tinsman Road if you have a chance. In theaters preferably. I dont want to spoil anything, but it's definitely one of my favorite found footage experiences i've had. It's real and raw in a way found footage often misses. I was emotionally invested the entire way through this.
