What I'm specifically interested in here is to what extent we can say that 'reasoning' models are learning inferential relationships, or perhaps, extracting such relations from a much looser semiotic soup. The basic thought is at the end of this piece:

Datacenters don't get a lot of love here for obvious reasons. Power, water (due to power) are the main reasons. Opticore has figured out how to get around those issues using light to do the linear algebra underlying LLMs.

Densification and electrification in 1930s New York altered daily cycles by making the nights less dark. House at Dusk (1935) captures the hinge hour when the rising city glow meets the last light of domestic life.

It’s a little too on the nose that the guy running Palantir in the EU/UK is… Oswald Mosley’s grandson.

Who is Louis Mosley, the man tasked with defending Palantir against its critics?

basically, w/ LLMs, my job is turning much more into feeling like gardening a complex system rather than feeling like writing code.

sites that allow for and encourage thoughtful user reviews of media are i think not respected enough. the form/forum of the letterbox or good review provides a space for the user to publicly journal and practice writing in what is oftentimes a semi-off hand way yet which is still deeply productive.
