Our volunteers are working on a selection of scrapbooks compiled by Ysgol Rhydfelen, the first Welsh comprehensive school to open in south Wales in 1962. According to the Pontypridd Observer, at the school’s first Open Day in 1964, parents were “well pleased” 😊

I wish more people knew the long and important histories of many of our ‘post-92’ universities. They all-to-often get judged as being somehow lesser than the pre-92s, but so many of them have much longer and, frankly, more venerable histories.

This wonderful plan of Trinity Training College, Carmarthen dates from October 1898. It includes rooms in which the college servants would have lived and worked in; the ironing room, boot room, buttery and sewing room.
