As we head into 2026, let's put an end to the reading goal of reading a set number of books for the year. Let's instead make a SMART goal that works. I dive into the goal that's worked for me for the past 4 years here.

I'm just a guy who loves reading and has no desire to write, but this sounds horrible. One of the things that makes reading so incredible is that an activity done alone is connected so much to humanity. I've got below zero desire to read anything created with no humanity and by a machine.

Just hearing about this getting re-released for the first time. Good thing there's still time to add it to the Christmas list.

I have a dark af, rural-noir, Coen-esque story going on sub in January. In the meantime, if you’ve read or want to read my debut, reviewing it or buying it would certainly help my new MS see the light of day!

Finished Five Decembers by James Kestrel last night and still haven't come down from it yet. Absolutely blown away by it, and it lived up to the hype. Destined to be a classic of crime fiction.

Dear parents: You see all this stupidity going around? Please read to your kids. Let them see you reading. Keep books around. Buy them books if you can. Show them how cool the library is. Tell them book banning is bad. Make reading part of their lives. It helps make good people.
