81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

This is your Democratic Party. No guts, no fight, no backbone, no vision. Effectively useless. Republikans are complete cowardly scum. Democrats are weak, useless, effectively owned by the billionaires and corporations. I'm done.

For me, this is about moving the Democratic party away from the corporatist that have dominated back to supporting the American worker. The calcified views of Democratic leadership has to go. We MUST support the American worker. Then and only then will we destroy the Republican hoard killing us.

The GOP is petrified of Zohran Mamdani because they know once democratic socialism works here, as it has in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, they will never be elected again.

I lived through the Great Depression and my parents never looked at FDR as a socialist but more like a savior who used the government to have programs to turn things around. FDR was more of a pragmatist who believed government and capitalism can work together for the good of the country.

At the risk of sounding petty, calls for Democratic unity going forward are all well and good, but let’s not forget that the reason Cuomo ran against Mamdani in the first place was a last-ditch effort by the New York Democratic Party to ratfuck their duly elected nominee.

I hope this is the beginning of the end for the corporate Democrats that have been pushing the democratic party to the right since Clinton was president. Maybe this will show them that what the ppl really want is politicians that work for the working class, not corporate owners.

The Leadership in the DNC is as bad as the RNC, being told by donors who to back and making that pick regaurdless of the ppl’s choice. They did it to Bernie , with Hillary, then again with Biden. The DNC is the reason we have Trump// We should have had BERNIE, we wouldnt be here today!

It was a rejection of MAGA policies but the real story is that it also rejected the corporate democrats who take money from the same people as MAGA. The future of politics is the way of Mamdani AOC. It was ushered in by Bernie.

New York has chosen well by electing Zorhan Mamdani as their next Mayor! Maybe it’s time GOP-lite, Corporate Democrats finally realize social Democrat FDR was elected president 4 times because people actually prefer candidates who work for them, not big money donors.

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world. This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

Listen to Blaze Foley. It will do you good. Bob Dylan said Blaze was his favorite songwriter. Townes Van Zandt said Blaze was one of the most spiritual people he ever met. John Prine covered his work. Merle Haggard tracked down every recording he could get. The public has mostly forgotten.

My friends, the 1st Amendment says we are guaranteed freedom of speech. And the Supreme Court has ruled that "money is speech". I think it can fairly be argued, therefore, that we the people are all due free money! This is the rationale for instituting UBI! Universal Basic Income!

We will need a New new deal, a redistribution of wealth as basic income, guaranteed healthcare, childcare, education, and affordable housing. We need a restructuring and hardening of all our institutions. Expansion of SCOTUS, congressional term limits, the repeal of Citizens United.

Humans are weird, see a bird with a broken wing…you feel the need to help it fly again…take it to the vet, help it even if it bites at you and hisses at you. You know it’s because the creature is scared and the doctor told you. Humans will see a human with a broken spirit and you kick/blame it more.
