The volume of messages I still get from MP's staffers and people working as local councillors seeking support suggest whichever party* the job is harder, largely thankless, and often really challenging. For constituents, because of constituents, due to social/media, and rising hate and intolerance.

What gave you courage in 2025?

I was anaemic when pregnant with Small Son and it left me feeling really unwell but I was surprised how easy it was to fix with the help of my midwife. Unforgivable what harms these deliberate and evil cuts are causing.

Enjoyed a cold walk in the sunshine and fed the squirrels and corvids. Made friends with a bull terrier who told me he'd not had ANY kind of treats or even a morsel of food for the whole of Christmas. Small Son's ham and cheese toastie quickly became a cheese toastie (owner said it was okay). You?

How's your Boxing Day? Our family tradition is to have Christmas dinner *again* on Boxing Day because my grandfather worked in hotels so never got to see his family on Christmas Day. I'm giving myself credit for wrestling with the cooker we inherited that's built for 2 and we're a family of 4.
