A protester who was detained for about five hours last night tells me they were slapped and called “f****t” (among other names) and were repeatedly slapped inside after being thrown to the ground/maced while being detained. They say an agent inside mentioned Broadview had deported a citizen.

Reminder that Broadview is a "processing facility" and not a designated "detention center." They've got 150 human prisoners to a room in there with the windows boarded up and armed militia on the roof.

My understanding is that Broadview is a deportation "processing facility" not intended (I mean ostensibly obvs) to house detainees overnight or really at all. It's 10pm. The windows are boarded up. There are US citizens being held inside. No one can contact them. What the actual fuck.

State Senator Graciela Guzman is out here in front of the facility demanding the release of two of her constituents (who are U.S. citizens), asking to speak with federal agents. No response from them so far. Shes putting on a respirator.

ICE shot and killed a man in the Chicago suburbs last week. In the days since, we've seen a laundry list of escalating violent behavior from the feds: reckless driving, destroyed property, dawn raids, intimidation and threats against reporters, witnesses assaulted and threatened with pepper spray.

As an American, I don't see how King Charles prancing around like Neville Chamberlain is making the most of an impossible situation.
