Deutschland ist durch die US-Zölle auf Autos stärker betroffen als andere EU-Länder. Das darf aber nicht dazu führen, klein beizugeben. Im Gegenteil, nur eine geeinte und starke Reaktion der EU kann Schlimmeres verhindern.

Eine besonders effektive Maßnahme wäre, die Dienstleistungen der Big-Tech Unternehmen zu besteuern. Dass die EU mehr Dienstleistungen aus den USA beziehen als umgekehrt, davon ist in Trumps Reden bisher nichts zu hören. Einzelne EU-Länder erheben jetzt schon eine Digital Service Tax.

There are several things to unpack here. 1. It just says "extraterritorial" levies -- i.e. ANY tax levied by a foreign country. The statement isn't nuanced enough to focus on just the possible top-up tax, rather, it seems to open a war on ANY taxation of inbound multinationals.
