Post-release, sure, I bet Sony has been staring at Helldivers 2 and trying to figure out how to do more of that, and they're probably learning a lot of wrong lessons in the process. But it just doesn't have the same size and feel of what you think of as a typical live service swing.

I feel like lumping Helldivers 2 and its success into all of the larger discussion around PlayStation's live service dreams never makes much sense. Helldivers 2 is a sequel to Helldivers. They grew it in sensible, modern ways. They didn't set out to make a 10-year game full of microtransactions.
