Obviously I understand why news outlets prioritize urgency. But it’s not the ONLY thing that matters. Other things matter, too. Like grammar. And spelling. And not sending push notifications for “breaking news” stories that have 0 details.

The last thing I'll say is if you're outside of the US— Look at what's happening as a lesson to take your country/local politics and elections seriously. The political trends in other countries around the globe are growing more right-wing and are not so far behind what's happening here in the US.
