This whole thread, but I especially love the notion of Epstein’s associates’ realizing that, if there was ever any merit in what they accomplished, everyone agrees it’s eclipsed forever. They will always be identified as an Epstein associate. They know the first sentence of their obituary.

As we unite around rejecting what Trump did with Epstein & what Trump’s doing with ICE, those most invested in preserving the status quo will see Trump & Trumpism as a lost cause. The more we unite, the more they’ll join our cause.

It’d be great if what appears to be Trump’s message blaming Norway for his spurning peace triggers his ouster, but the way reporters are saying the message is real makes me suspicious. Has Trump really boxed himself in? He could deny authorship or say he was joking. Either way, he won’t be believed.

Bessent won’t stop conspiring with Trump. On the imminent US debt default, will the bond raters stop & even if they do, will it matter? In 2013, the GOP Congress caved to Obama due to an imminent default. Obama cared. Trump doesn’t. Even if Thune cares & acts, will it matter? Is a crisis inevitable?

Unacceptable! Trump is a dictator. It is not possible to reform him or effect change from the inside. Republicans need to leave their party & pledge to caucus with Dems. The other two Branches must counter Trump with the rule of law, while the people peacefully protest. The alternative is violence.

Trump, Musk, and Bessent have brought the IRS to the brink of extinction. The Acting Commissioner is Bessent’s deputy. The Acting Chief Counsel “a Trump ally and mid-level employee…jumped multiple seniority levels to take the position, worrying executives in the office about his ability to lead.”

Even if Bessent resigns because of trade war skepticism, he absolutely must not be credited with being a principled person. Trump & Musk could never have brought the IRS to the brink of extinction without Bessent’s letting them & helping them. He will forever be near the top of my list of villains.
