So the intersection at Imperial Ave & Park Blvd. is now “Peter Seidler Way.” Ceremony notes: Sheel & kids not there. John Seidler’s speech said she sent a message expressing gratitude but that she was unable to attend.

Atm, street signs for (presumably) Peter Seidler are going up where Imperial Ave meets the stadium. Not sure if anything else is happening.

So my followup question would be: “When this happens, what resources or referrals does the Padres organization offer in terms of mental health support?”

It matters how you treat everyone regardless of position. I heard from a regular Padres employee assigned to Shildt’s comings & goings: “I can honestly say that he was the kindest and most caring person in the organization.”

His whole life was baseball, both parents deceased, no siblings, no wife … ugh. He is very religious so hopefully that’ll be his way through.

Over the course of this season, I came to dislike Mike Shildt’s style of play & the way he was a smartass to reporters. But hey, I feel for the guy as a human, and the fact that he cited the “severe toll” it was taking on him mentally & physically leads me to simply wish him well going forward.
