This year we have an amazing new principal. He grew up in the Bronx and was a principal there for 12 years. Last night in an email he wrote that after our 7:30am faculty meeting we were all going to walk across to the gym. It’s 15 degrees here. We told him we would die. He changed it to tomorrow.

Met a newly hired teacher today. Within 5 mins we both knew each other’s favourite team and what church we go to. (Second part was not a direct question but came up in conversation.) Thankfully his team is in the SEC even if it is just Ole Miss.

To be honest, I didn’t enjoy the first two Knives Out movies. I think a big part of it was hearing my favourite OO7 speak with a southern accent. But this third one - Wake Up Dead Man - was so good!!!

Look, if we wanted to live where it’s 32 for a high and 16 for a low in mid-December we wouldn’t have chosen Chatt. This is unseasonably cold for us. It’s more like mid-January through February temps.

7.5yo decided he’d be a camel. Got his 4yo sis to join him. Almost 6yo is dying to be “The Mother” but is not old enough. Still she always uses her angel role to try to usurp “The Mother” role (mostly kidding). Here is her a few years ago doing the same thing.

When we told Boo we were gonna watch the movie Lion, he was very interested. We failed to tell him that it doesn’t have any lions in it.

Because of our work schedules, my daughter and I only get to go out together without kids a few times a year. Today we saw Wicked for Good. It was SO good! We saw Wicked on Broadway when she was 17. It was her first trip to NYC, so we have a lot of memories around this play that we love so much.

With the grandkids encouragement I sorted and hung my jewelry for the first time in over 3 years. It’s all costume jewelry, and I never wear it. They are like little vultures and I happily give them something every time they come over.

Getting old is not for the faint of heart. We all know about the joint pain when it gets cold. And my nerve pain from my autoimmune disorder gets worse in the cold. But now muscle pain from the cold? Is this from aging? Please don’t suggest soaking in a bath as we have no tub. I hate cold weather!!

One thing you should know about these kitties is that they came without the meow feature. Very rarely Boo makes a squeak or a chirp, but no meow. Teddy is close to mute. They are very quiet kitties.

As an actual old lady, I find it a bit humorous that the current fashion is… 80s mom jeans and little old lady sweaters and cardigans. I wouldn’t touch those things with a 10 foot pole. But to each his own.

The kids were here all afternoon and they did so well with the kitties. It’s been a bit of an adjustment for the kitties, but they’re getting more comfy around the kiddos. Plus the kids are old enough now to actually be a help in decorating!

My entire life I felt so stupid because I can’t decorate Christmas cookies like I see others do. I finally let that go a few years ago, and it has been so freeing! It’s just not gonna be one of my strengths. But apparently no one cares as the cookies tasted great and were eaten with much joy.

Two weeks ago they’d never met, now they’re best buds.

I have never had a pet that actually watched TV. Boo does. So far his favourites are college football and Jeopardy.

Politicians have made Americans into such tribalists that if someone says ‘orange’ dozens will scream ‘peach’ and meanwhile the politicians serve only themselves. Politicians have convinced Americans to fight each other instead of evil politicians.
