Trump apparently gets jealous and furious that no one loves him, yet it never occurs to him that his unlovability is the result of his own personality and behavior.

God doesn't always give Christians what we want but He always gives us what we need. And He makes sure that we never have to walk through life alone, which is a greater blessing than we can even begin to imagine and none of us actually deserves.

And there’s the problem. The Cabinet members, congressional representatives, and senators are trying so hard to prove their loyalty to Trump that they’re ignoring their primary duty to be loyal to the laws and constitution of the United States.

To paraphrase the immortal Forrest Gump, “I’m not a smart man, but I do know what rank corruption and an ongoing criminal enterprise look like.”

Many folks, including Trump and his minions, seem to confuse moralism with Christianity. All people, even non-Christians, have morals of some kind. The Gospel can’t be reduced to the idea that, by improvements in our behavior (i.e., being more “moral”), we can somehow achieve righteousness.

The war in Iran isn’t being run by anyone in the U.S. government. No one is at the wheel. Instead, the tail is just wagging the dog while the Keystone Cops in the administration run around in ill-fitting new shoes and happily subvert the Constitution and laws in order to curry favor with a madman.

No political ideology has a monopoly -- or even a claim -- on Christian faith. Folks on both sides should pay more attention to the Lordship of Jesus and the truth of His Gospel than to suggesting some imagined ideological closeness to the Savior, who actually shunned partisan political activity.
