The first issue of Whole Fanzine Catalog (1978) ends with an article to help aspiring zine makers understand the labor & cost involved. He breaks it down step by step & concludes, "You can count on a 24 page fanzine of 200 copies to take about 50 hours to produce."

Starting some research at the Schwules Museum (

kids should be able to read cursive because it enables them to read old documents among other things. When done consistently it’s also a more economical form of writing. I don’t know why people are so mad about this.

The show I won't name because I don't want to feed the SEO results cannot be watched ethically. The author actively uses her resources to harm trans people, pushing for legislation that makes their lives far, far more difficult. Human decency is worth more than a tv show.

I was really excited to discover that publishing more of Pink Mince can count toward the PhD I’m about to start at the University of Reading. My research started with my zine, and it should remain a great way to reach other people with interest in and history with my topic.

I saw Nile Rogers a couple of years ago, and his set was simply a non-stop roster of mind-blowing hits. It was actually insulting that he was an opening act playing to a half-empty arena waiting for Duran Duran.

The Welliver set-up at Hand & Eye was my first exposure to this incredible hack. It blew my mind to think the keyboard and rolls of paper tape would turn out to be the obsolete parts of the Monotype system.

This clip features Sir Ian’s incredible Shakespearean monologue that’s rightly getting a lot of traction today, but you should really watch it for the discussion about what makes live theater so thrilling and powerful.

Like any love of Star Trek, I always find something delicious to quibble about with any new entry to the franchise. I’m not necessarily the audience for all the bits of “Starfleet Academy”, for instance, but they are taking a lot of big swings and hitting some incredible targets.
