So much of film conversation online is actively spoiling the enjoyment of films, and it's tiring. I don't need to know who this person is playing, or what footage they showed at an industry event, or who was spotted on set. It's all just fuel for an endless online machine of media commentary.

When something leaks, it's really hard on the people that made it. They want to show you the best, most finished version, presented in the best way possible. I've seen Clavicular walk out of 2 interviews recently -- one because the interviewer said he wouldn't change how he looks, and another because of "politics" -- and my takeaway from both is close to sympathy. This kid has such a narrow worldview that he can't comprehend people just being happy.

I get frustrated when I see established screenwriters say "there are no rules, you can do what best serves the story" because, like, yes, EVENTUALLY there will be no rules but the people looking for advice absolutely still need those rules to guide them.
