Last night I remastered Washburn (2/28/17) with better Lightroom tools, and my better know-how. It almost brought a real tear to my eye; it's the first time I've actually loved this photo. Sometimes it just takes years of revisiting.

The 2024 hurricane season ends today. It was a wild ride. The season was hyperactive as forecast, but the way it got there was very unusual. Long chunks of the season in July and October were more active than they have even been. The September peak of the season was among the quietest of all time.

If this tornado picture were 60 feet wide and 40 feet tall and you stood right in front of it, it still wouldn't take up as much of your vision as it did in real life. You can't sum up a supercell in a picture.

Only an hour after my first plains tornado, a separate storm moved over the small town of Wray, CO.
