To every doomer and cynic that says speaking up doesn’t make a difference, a little boy is home with his father because people stood up for him. Is Liam going home enough? Absolutely not. But it absolutely does matter.

The Trump admin’s whole case regarding Haitians in Ohio is racism, xenophobia, and lies. There’s literally nothing else to it. Legal status, proper papers. No criminal record. Employers, neighbors, local leaders say they’re a benefit to the community. It’s showy, bigoted cruelty, nothing more.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

They’re taking kids from Minnesota and sending them to detention camps. They’re shooting American citizens in the street and locking investigators out of the crime scenes. The world is watching what happens next.

Love is not dead

This isn’t about convicting Don Lemon. It’s unlikely that will happen. It’s about intimidating journalists & making them censure themselves out of fear of consequences. It’s about eroding the free press because the administration can’t afford the criticism.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

I will end this by saying: dismantle DHS starting with ICE and CBP, fire anyone that has had anything to do with Trump Admin immigration enforcement no questions asked...as soon as you actually have the power to do that.

Not the Onion: MN National Guard is having to de-militarize their appearance to make sure they’re not confused with immigration agents.

The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

DHS is managing to do war crimes without being at war. No wonder Hegseth approves.

The DHS funding bill is effectively dead in the Senate.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him. White. Hot. Rage.

So I watched the shooting video frame by frame and it looks like: 1) They were beating a struggling man with batons 2) His jacket opened revealing a gun in his waistband or lower back 3) The agent in gray grabbed the gun and was walking away 4) THEN the other agents shot the man in the back

There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.

This should be a career-ending vote. Jared Golden isn’t even seeking reelection. He did this one for free.

On the execution in Minnesota: Obviously, the individuals involved should be held accountable. But responsibility goes to the top of ICE and CBP, and DHS. Their appropriations come up next week in the senate. Not a cent for DHS without pulling ICE and CBP off the streets, in MN and everywhere else.
