I guess the cats were just being weird little dudes. No rapture, or earthquake, or groundhog chewing its way through the floor. My normality-anchor spouse did take an imaginary phone call around 3AM though so maybe something was in the air last night.

Are people Rapturing early? Are we about to have an earthquake? Is whatever haunts the stairs acting up again? The cats keep collectively freaking out. Hammer, our old normally calm ginger, just used my face as a launching pad. Ouch.

Whoo-hoo! My old, worn out VHS copy of Cast A Deadly Spell can take a much needed rest now. The DVD looks nice and the image quality is better than my old tape. Maybe someday it'll get a nice release and I can see Fred Ward in all his glory. Until then, this is an upgrade for me.

Paper wasps are usually not aggressive and the ones here are fairly small. Unless you find one behind your towel when you exit the shower. Being naked in close proximity to a wasp makes it seem much larger.

Yum! I haven't thought of warming the yogurt, I usually put some into a bowl before I start on the rest. And I like to add some toasted nuts (walnuts usually) to mine to give me something to chew on since otherwise this is pretty soft.

The chonky jujube-eating squirrel was on the porch roof eating a Marseilles fig when I came home. Once I was in the yard, it chucked half a fig at me and ran. There's enough fruit this year to weigh down a branch so that I can partake too. I'm happy to fight the ants for them.

Francesca had a full day of assisting with laundry and playing fetch, so she didn't make it all the way through The Guyver. I really liked The Guyver though, it's goofy and has such cool creature effects.

This morning Francesca provided her assistance with sorting some laundry. We had a few friendly disagreements.

Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor is another movie I've seen mentioned here and was tonight's watch. The plot is slight but it was a fun watch. The practical effects are amazing though, and made it worth it. Also, Francesca was enthralled. Two thumbs and a paw up.

I saw a squirrel nibbling jujubes this morning. Jujube bits were flying everywhere, but mostly into the bird bath below the tree. And here I've been blaming the raccoons. Deer are eating my figs. I'm the only one eating the basil at least.

I knew I was influenced to watch this. I saw it on Tubi and knew I'd just read about it. I question the need for boob scenes but I realize I'd be watching a guy shower in a heartbeat. The movie is pretty fun, and I'd've loved it when I was a kid. It was an entertaining watch.

This is my Terror at Tenkiller moment! Very little happens. I'd avoid calls and listen to messages on my answering machine. Or make calls on my avocado green landline phone. Just chill. Maybe go to the nearly empty diner. Maybe swim in the lake.

After I listened to the commentaries on Trick or Treat with Reed Richmond ( @chrislamartina.bsky.social ), I wanted to watch Grave Mistakes and got my hands on a copy of the double feature with Book of Lore. GM is amazing, but both are a good watch for the soft launch of Halloween.

Tourist Trap from 1979 is a wonderful mess. My only issue with it is Eileen (Robin Sherwood) throwing on the concept of a shawl. It doesn't hide anything. It can't be warm. Why does this suggestion of a wrap exist? Every time I watch it this, of all the silly things, throws me off a bit.
