It's wild that we've reached a point where the President openly admits to firing people for political reasons, and his OMB director tweets about it like it's a victory. This is page one of the authoritarian playbook, happening in plain sight.

This week I got to The Ledges in Vermont for the only time this year. But nice way to end the season! I missed most of the fall foliage, which came early due to a lack of rain that kept the reservoir low and the path dry. But while the distant hills appeared barren, I saw a bit more color closer up.

What will it take for regular people to understand that if they refuse to stand up against fascism they will not be spared? Fascism is a serial killer with no restrictions on who it targets.

As I keep needing to be reminded, I thought I'd remind all my wonderful creator friends: Art, creation — these are enemies of fascism. In times when we feel we shouldn't be mucking about with frivolous art because of what's happening in our streets, that's when we need to make it most.

Good article, with a personal touch. When open and mutual nudity are only in sexual or abusive contexts, too many people associate nudity in itself with these things. But lack of simple exposure to nudity harms in different ways. When casual nudity exists outside these contexts, all harms lessen.

Is any parkland an exception? It’s really too bad this went from technically allowing someone to walk naked in the center of town to virtually no nudity at all within city limits. Tbh I wish people hadn’t overstepped. The Berlin, Germany model of some nudity in public parks could’ve worked instead 😕

See the whole thread👇 It’s hard for me to fathom objecting to someone being nude in their own garden (also living in the highly developed northeast US, it’s also hard to relate to even having a private garden!) But we should build on where majorities do think nudity is acceptable.

One of the most helpful writings I’ve ever read on naturism/nudism/whatever you want to call it, and I’m sure I’ll revisit it. Divide #2 is particularly insightful; the bar should be very high before excluding anybody. (Tbh, my favorite crowd is at a site where many people just happen to go naked.)

I’m sharing this (tho I’m a man, and responses from women are needed more!) Is this survey about moving beyond social nudity in sanctioned places to public nudity anywhere? Maybe I’m over-interpreting this, but as a full-fledged nudist, I’m all for more naked spaces but not pushing it on the public.

What a great weekly feature! When I’ve been in a yoga class it’s almost always been nude, so I can enjoy that freedom even if my body barely stretched where I wanted. So I liked the cow pose because it was easy. 😄 But this reminds me it’s worth doing anytime after long sits and to relieve stiffness.

Anyone who has studied the history of police states and surveillance can tell you invasions like this are a stalking horse. Extreme tactics like this are always tested on vulnerable populations prior to being normalized across society.

I’m away on the first Home Nudist Day, but I’ve had quite a view staying at my uncle’s house overlooking a bay. I know, this isn’t a photo of the skinny dip. I was at Dyer Woods Nudist Campground and was part of a large group that posed at the pond, and I took some of my own dips. But only the designated photographer could snap pics in the common area. So here I am outside a cabin a friend was renting there 🤷‍♂️
