A look at a naturist comic and what it says about the difficulties facing nudist media.

I want this on a billboard where everyone can see it.

The desire for the freedom to be unclothed is a good, healthy desire. Part of the hope for a post-bigotry world, for sure. But we first need that world to not be racist or LGBTQ-phobic. Adopting naturism/nudism does not by itself cure these societal prejudices, nor does curing them require naturism.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a proud naturist, I do detest how society treats nudity so poorly, I do dream of a day where that changes, BUT Whenever I see anyone propose naturism as a cure-all for societal woes and mental health, I think that’s reductive, unhelpful, and disturbingly Evangelical-esque.
