It’s been really disheartening to see the things people say about those who use SNAP. Many seem to have little understanding of why the program exists in the first place.

It isn't complicated.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families? Now you know.
