I think I'm really scared of being a starving artist again, but at this point, I can't see any other way to move forward.

It's an uncanny feeling, being an adult in a world like this. I feel like I'm hanging on to the notion of "maturity" with nothing but the tips of my fingers. The curse of being a writer is you are always that guy that's "working on something". And you never wanna show it because it's like looking at the back of a butcher's shop. Guts and slop scattered across a tarp on the floor. Got a cleaver in my hand like "I'm making the steak, I'm getting it now!"

Every time I start writing in the day, I feel like I'm just getting into the groove, and then my alarm goes off and I gotta get ready for work. And I draft on the bus and on my break and I swear to people I'm doing it; I'm doing the writer thing as hard as I can.
