And ultimately what is necessary is upgraded ventilation, filtration, and upper-room UV in all indoor public spaces. That would stop this. We don't need N95s forever in most places, any more than we need to boil water everywhere, anymore. Engineering is enough... if we do it.

Such a good photo of a bird that never pauses! You can even zoom in&see one of the cool adaptations these birds have. There’s a single feather to cover each nares on the beak, allowing them to minimize heat loss as they breathe. GCKIs can maintain a body temp of 110°F in temps as low as -40°!

Hey Ontario. Please pay attention to this. It's fucking terrifying. As a renter I rely on rent control in order to, you know, LIVE, and this threatens to take it away from me and most people I know. Write to your MPP. Call Ford's office. I don't even know what to think right now. Fuck Ford, man.

Solastalgia is a reasonable term. It's the weaponization of "anxiety" that's a huge red flag. In the COVID narrative it has been used manipulatively, including by the public health leaders who are responsible for allowing COVID to get out of control, to erase critical examination of consequences.

Health Canada puts out guidelines recommending N95s and clean indoor air! Let’s do this! Yes it’s overdue, and no it doesn’t address every risk factor, but we can significantly curb COVID with respirator use and clean air.

Something I've learned from advocating for my children and myself is that a lot of the protections of laws are based on the victims having the energy, money, and time to sue if they're not followed, which is why the law fails us again and again.

A useful way to have this conversation is to talk about clean water. We don't rely on boil-water advisories as our only tool. We clean the water at source. Why wouldn't we do the same with air? Mask mandates are boil water advisories: stop gaps while we upgrade HVAC, upper room UV, etc. Why not?

If you still mask & talk about covid I just want to say thank you. It makes me feel less alone as a disabled person. I know it’s mostly disabled people advocating for themselves but most people either abandoned us lot ago or never stood by us. We have to stand together as we always have. 🤎

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

A striking thing about articles I’ve read claiming to “study the effects” of generative AI on student writing skills and consumption of information is that (1) they nearly always find the effects are negative and (2) most “conclusions” are still written assuming that we must use AI, for some reason.

You do not need your uterus to live. We would never force a man to keep a diseased organ in his body because of what a hypothetical future wife might want. The culture must change. We need full autonomy and equality, and we need it now.

If we had responded to Covid by normalizing masking, providing respirators in healthcare & adopting clean air standards…we could have beaten the virus. We would also be seeing less measles, colds & flu. We would all be healthier. I believe history will see it as one of our greatest failures.

It’s never too late to start masking again. It can be daunting to mask back up when no one else is bothering, but your health is worth it. Every Covid infection is a dice roll with disability, and a good respirator like an N95 stops chains of transmission. You’ll also get less colds & flus!
