Anecdotally what I'm seeing a lot is patients either avoiding the emerg completely or leaving after several hrs of waiting. Then they wait days or weeks to see me in the office, which is often not appropriate or safe. Sometimes, I have to send them straight back to the emerg. This is really bad.
