This is really all they have left. "We have a pointless and criminal war pushing gas prices through the roof and the global economy to the brink but at least the government isn't treating trans people like they're human beings" will be the entirety of the midterm message.

worth remembering, David Lynch directed âfix your hearts or dieâ specifically at transphobes. it wasnât a generic âno mean people allowedâ statement, it was said by his Twin Peaks character in defense of a trans woman he cared for and deeply respected.

Has anyone written a coherent, good-faith argument *against* a ban on stock trading by members of Congress, or in favor of the status quo? What is the argument lawmakers use when explaining why they don't want a vote on the matter? Having trouble finding.

Iâll say it straight: It is unbecoming, undignified, cowardly, and shameful for a institution as revered and respected as the University of Virginia to grant an audience in 2025 to those who are committed to destroying science, free thought, human rights, and the rule of law.

An unsatisfying term Iâve been thinking through to make sense of this is âpostpolitical.â The right looks for that one signifier to prove the shooter was a leftist, the left hopes for proof he was a right winger, and so on. But for these kids donât use signifiers that way (1/)

Just going to reiterate that in 2016 Trump inherited the lowest murder rate of any president in 50 years. He set reality aside, gave his âAmerican Carnageâ inaugural address, and was then the first president in 30 years to leave office with a higher murder rate than when he started.
