As I like to say "I'm a game designer not a baseball player... I don’t pitch." I just like to make things and hang out with people and solve silly problems I make for myself. My games are a "success" or "complete" when one person goes "this is my favorite game" or "I loved this so much."

It brings me some solace to know that whatever's happening down here, there are still some absolutely incredible human-made and human-driven robots wandering around Mars, looking at cool rocks and dirt and sending us pictures just because we're curious about planets and our own origins in the cosmos

I did something nerdy about sports! Medal tables have always bugged me, because some sports give out more medals than others. Like, Norway got the most medals, and of course that's a meaningful stat. But like a lot of stats, it doesn't tell the full picture. (big 🧵)

My grandma passed away earlier this week. If you ever wanted to know where my creativity for my weird board games comes from, look no further than Grandma Pat. She was a zany lady and a skilled artist who made her own urn.

Start small. Give yourself SMALL goals you can complete quickly, while inspiration and courage hold out. There ARE people whose first writing work is a series of epic novels. But they are rare. When you are starting, make a goal of a page, a paragraph, even a sentence. Completion is triumph.

I've thought a lot of about my issues with AI, especially LLMs, and one thing besides the more pressing environmental and power structure issues: people using AI to change human-made creative outputs. Getting AI summaries of human writing, YouTube adjusting videos already uploaded, etc. [1/2]
