We should see the 1st arrivals in the west tonight, however it's later in the period that looks most promising. There should be a direct airstream from N. Africa from Mon, with Tues & particularly Weds looking promising at this stage, when high concentrations of Saharan dust are possible. #teammoth

A challenging work week at Ipswich Golf Club with so much rain. The Greenways Project returned with their volunteers for more wetland restoration, clearing willow scrub & building dead hedge. On wet days potting up young Heather seedlings in our polytunnel. Plenty of Crossbills around the area

Six species of moth found in Long Melford (Suffolk) woodland this evening - all by torchlight. Totals were: Early Moth - 5 Spring Usher - 1 Mottled Umber - 2 Satellite - 5 Chestnut - 7 Winter Moth - 18 Interestingly, 4 of the Satellites and 3 Chestnuts were feeding on overripe rosehips. #mothsmatter

A cold week Ipswich Golf Club so work on winter program done whilst course closed due to frozen conditions. Gorse cutting with our staff and Greenways Project with their volunteers, quite an invasive plant on the heath taking over open habitats so needs management.
