Took delivery of 2 rescue hedgehogs this evening. Born too late to hibernate but now a chunky pair that I hope will enjoy the habitat here. I bet they never use the house after tonight!

Beautiful but cold day at Strumpshaw Fen

After yesterday's flooding and trail closures at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen, the water levels have dropped and both Fen Hide and Tower Hide have re-opened. Still a bit muddy.

Common Quaker to MV tonight - that mild spell must have confused it, though I had one 8 December last year too
