3/3 …in the early succession stage. I'm curious to know whether there's any evidence yet that B granulosa inhibits C introflexus development. Or does it tend to take hold only when the moss has peaked? Hope you don't mind the questions! Fascinating stuff, and many congratulations again.

2/3 …if so, given that C introflexus arrived in the UK by 1941, has it perhaps already reached natural balance with B granulosa? It will be interesting to hear the results of your continued monitoring over time! From a lichenological point of view, anyway, I think the main concern is competition…

From Landguard, Moth Trapping: With rain only settling in late night we still had 45 species. Our first site record of Eastern Bordered Straw which we have been hoping for with a nationwide influx at this very moment. The moth was first recorded in Britain in 1958 with singles in the 1990s

Bit surprised to find Melanohalea exasperatula this week. On oak, Ringsfield, TM48/VC25 East Suffolk. First record for hectad; maybe 20th for county. Ascending lobes thick with inflated to spade-shaped isidia; pale underside with scattered rhizines; medulla C-, K-.
