I think it might be a more effective artistic statement if your "Art RPG" was a fully playable game that could sustain play over a period of time. Otherwise, all you're doing is taking the game part out in which case you're probably better off working in a format where that's not integral.

No, I was born yesterday and have never read a single TTRPG book! That's not a fucking mechanic, dude. That's an ad hoc agreement at a table - which can often leave players feeling out in the cold if their idea of "cool" doesn't synch up. Which happens ALL the TIME.

I am absolutely begging designers out there: Consider why you are using the dice you are using, and how much variance you are building into the design. If you don't know the tangible difference between 2d6 and 1d12 on swinginess of the roll, then you should probably read that before you pick dice.

vampire crawlers is very funny because the primary strategy is to get a build where you cast your entire deck 4x over every turn. it does legitimately feel like vampire survivors in the sense of the sheer volume of fire you emit during combat
