I hope as we move past the first wave of AI criticism ("it doesn't work, all hype") we get a new wave of AI criticism rooted in the acknowledgement that, yes, these systems are very powerful & quite useful and focusing a deep exploration of when AI uses are uplifting and when they are detrimental.

i thought @ricky.fm talk was very good. i hope they’ll glue it up together from two days into a cohesive video. slightly sad about the last example breaking (a one-line mistake) but such is the nature of live demos. overall i think it’s a great conclusion to last ten years of work from the team. 💜

in my opinion this ended up being a great thing for react. if you chase “adoption” as a primary metric in your open source project, you’ll make different choices than if you just want the project to meet its use cases and be useful to other people

While I'm grateful tools like this exist, to me this is still an unacceptable experience. We can do better than the disconnected posts, profiles only visible on certain sites, inability to do global search, and inaccurate like/follow counts that are tolerated on other decentralized networks. 6/11

I remember when prettier came out and we tried it on a project, I called it "uglier" and removed it almost immediately. Little did I know that it mostly doesn't matter _how_ you format something - what matters is that everyone uses the same style. In that sense, prettier is goated 🐐.
