Not only have I not used generative AI... I don't have to. I can draw, paint, animate, 3D model, code, and research, and I have written five novels and dozens of fanfics, a ttrpg and a skirmish game. It's crazy what you can achieve when you actually bother learning and practising stuff.

Took me a very long time to understand that connecting with a story idea matters more than finding the "best" one. An idea that seems phenomenal can feel like pulling teeth if you never click with it, while a merely "okay" idea you connect with can open the floodgates and become a joy to write.

Hailing Scales, looking back at some of these old books we wrote and then thinking about what we're working on now, we've been through a lot. Like, just, a lot of different things, different ways of seeing the world, different perspectives, different protagonists, different moods. So many words.
