What did you draw today, Tom? Well I drew a Snail with a gun taped to its back, obviously. (Part of the Shadows of Doubt Modifiers update! I got to make lots of weird things for this)

So they're basically remaking Bomb Rush Cyberfunk? Ok fine, I'll buy it. (I had a lot of fun with the first one!)

I've seen so many "Amazing details in Metal Gear Solid Delta" videos which are all details from the original Metal Gear Solid 3, unchanged. (I didn't buy Metal Gear Triangle)

I was curious how the Street Fighter Alpha sprites would look if they were designed for square pixels, so I did a quick edit to see. Square (or correct aspect ratio) on the left, original sprites on the right. (This is rather niche, I know... but I thought someone might find it interesting)

I can't believe I haven't drawn Street Fighter 6 Ryu yet. He looks great in it, so here he is being chill.

This marketer pulled data on 6,422 pixel art games released over the last 2 years on Steam. Only 5% cleared 500 reviews. Here’s some fun data on the 5%.

Welp, I've just found out that my role has been made redundant 🫠... So I will be looking for work! If anyone is looking for a 2D/3D Generalist or Art Director for games (particularly specialising in stylised projects!) please shout! From concepts > modelling > animating thru to implementation 💛✨

Shame on Bristol council for using AI imagery in this adult learning leaflet. Why bother learning when you can become an AI slopper?

XBOX - logo is a x in a ball - not an actual 'box' more of a service/religion at present PLAYSTATION - not a network rail managed station - 'play' implies games of which theres very few DREAMCAST - ah now we are talking - it sure casted them - 10/10 no objections

My biggest concern about the inevitable tech bubble collapse approaching, is how that lost revenue is going to be recouped by targeting the workers and customers first. Sorry lads but Microsoft fell for the latest cybersnake oil, so we gotta let you all go.

Feeling uninspired by the Gamescom offerings I went back to Jet Set Radio Future... you know, when games were weird and interesting. This is Jazz, one of the characters further into the game. Got to love a big scarf!

I remember these from childhood very well… I’m impressed with how on and off-key the art is at the same time. The different angles on enemies are great. Then you have ugly Robotnik pasted in.

Hey, hey, hey! Come on over for some CORPORATE Taxi... I had a silly comic idea placing the Crazy Taxi cabbies in the modern taxi world... Plus it gave me excuses to play Crazy Taxi again.

In Super Mario Bros., the first vertical lift platform in World 6-3 does not have a fixed range like it may seem at first. Instead, it slowly keeps increasing its range, so that keeping Mario on the platform will eventually result in his death.

Galaxy Fight is an... ok fighting game. But loads of great aspects about it though, in particular I noticed how each stage has a unique colour palette for every character. It gives the appearance of colour grading for the character to blend with the environment. This feels really advanced for 1995!

Here's a sampling of the cards I made for These Doomed Isles by TripleVision Games. I made 163 in total - a lot to do, but they're only 95x59 pixels! Loads of different themes and cultures, it was loads of fun :)

What do people do to prevent books from sun fading? I don't want to wrap everything in UV resistant plastic... (I know everyone is talking about awful things Microsoft have done today, but I thought it might be a nice distraction.)

I recently got to revisit Shadows of Doubt for some alternate keyart, which is now live on the Steam page:

It's always a nice excuse to revisit the detective world :) (Fun fact: this was a concept for the original keyart!)

A picture of SNK's Blue Mary. This started out as some line practice based on some old work but it turned into this! A mixed of Mary's win poses, plus it's been really hot here recently. Kind of Terada inspired too. I love Blue Mary and her stupid big belt.

I watched SteamBoy tonight. I have definitely seen it before (I even had it on DVD) but I couldn't remember a single detail of the plot... Which says a lot about that, but what a fantastic visual treat in character art, background art and animation.
