Total birds for the month 148, above average for March, total for the year now 165 which is the highest total at this point in the year (one above 2021). Highlights of the month include the Cranes, and the Serin on 19th March, the earliest ever; 17 new birds in total recorded.

Yesterday on the downs between Adur & Arun I was lucky to watch this beautiful male Hen Harrier for a while, followed a little later by distant glimpses of a ringtail - I don't often get to see 2 Hen Harriers in Sussex on the same walk...such elegant, effortless flight. @sussexornitholo.bsky.social
