Please to have found a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker nest this morning,3 young and adults seen bringing food to hole. Thanks to LSW team which arrived to scope nest early afternoon.

Local dog walk late afternoon yet another Honey Buzzard over the lane,Woodlark,2 Skylarks,Crossbill & Red Kite.

Ashdown raptor VP 3+ Honey Buzzards (dark & Pale morph birds) 3 Hobbies,immature female Goshawk,Kestrel,Sparrowhawk & Red Kite. Other bits female Bullfinch singing Firecrest & Chaffinch,2 Linnets,2 Swallows & 2 Meadow Pipits. 2 Painted Lady butterflies over the meadow.

Ashdown First bird of the afternoon was a lovely marked dark morph male Honey Buzzard followed by a Goshawk a Crow was chasing, brave bird. Couple of Redstarts,Cuckoo and family of fledged Stonechats. Just 2 Hobby,Com Sand & Little Egret at the res.

Lunch at The Britannia, Dungerness after watching a male Red breasted Flycatcher at the bird Obs. Other bits included smart male Black Redstart,2 adult Peregrines and this very tame fox.

Castle Water,Rye male Marsh Harrier,Hobby,Cuckoo,14 Swifts,Cattle Egret,16 drake Pochards plus female with 3 young.

Rye NR Few waders around including 3 Bar tailed Godwits,2 Common Sandpipers,2 Sanderlings,64 Dunlin,47 Ringed Plovers, just 2 Little Terns & Peregrine. While having dinner a Red backed Shrike was reported, will have a look tomorrow.

Several good views of the Eastern Subalpine Warbler at Cow Gap,Beachy Head this afternoon between the showers.

Weir wood Early morning pair of Shelducks off the dam which flew off high SE at 07:15,Little Egret E over dam. 6 Common Terns,2 LRP,Common Sandpipers & some Black Headed gulls. Ducks just a single Pochard and 3 Mandarins of note. Heronry busy with many young now fledgling from the 42 nests.

Henfield Levels Most of the water has now gone, but still 3 Little ringed Plovers,16 Lapwings,17 Teal,9 Shovelers,2 Wigeon,2 Gadwall,4 Swallows,House Martin,Cetti’s Warbler & and a Possible Water Pipit which landed in some short sedges out of sight.

Weir Wood Warmer this afternoon but still nothing moving except for a distant high Marsh Harrier slowly drifting SWW,which eventually joined up with a Red Kite.Goshawk male over south bank as was a male Peregrine which I just got on as it disappeared behind trees, pair of GBB Gulls on water
