This strip started as a riff on classic ’80s G.I. Joe PSAs. I needed kids to “learn the lesson,” so I reached out to Tauhid Bondia about using Miles and Kevin from Crabgrass. He kindly said yes! I colored it to mimic ’80s cel animation: grain, shadows, painted backgrounds, & am pretty happy with it.

I make my own now. Cannellini beans, puréed tomatoes, paprika, coriander, and a dash of chillie oil. Salt, pepper, chillie flakes optional. (Tastes nothing like baked beans, but I prefer it.)
