You can tell this is the first episode because the writers hadn’t yet realized what the holodeck would mostly be used for. Riker just walks into Data’s program without even asking. Then Wesley just waltzes in there like there’s not two senior officers having a discussion.

I love how in “Encounter at Farpoint” they make a little “previously on Star Trek” video for Riker.

I can't seem to find much about this, but I watched this last night and it's very well done. Recycles animation from all the shows. Some of the voices are spot on. Others are ok. Overall, it was quite entertaining.
