I was twelve in 1979 when Star Trek finally came back in the form of TMP. Did I love it? No. In fact, as my brother and I left the theater, I remember us hating it. But subsequent viewings, time, and a little wisdom have taught me to adore this film, and all those truly remarkable performances.
