Picked up Skybound Transformers issues 29 and 30 today and read them. The bullet points of the story are fine and maybe even a little intriguing, but the execution has the precision of a toddler smashing their toys together. Why I'm still keeping up with this series, I don't even know 😓

I am playing a game where defeating the wind spirit of the sword in the stone unlocked a weapon called "Nameless" which also happened to pop an achievement/trophy called "Gate of Babylon". I wonder if these are a reference to something 😐

I feel reasonably confident in speculating that this was conceived for a different line that isn't happening and was later shoehorned into MPG to get that $Optimus, because it doesn't feel like a MP. Feels like a third party MP-10 derivative. Not bad, but you have been here before.

Transformation is simultaneously as bad as you heard and not so bad. The general ideas aren't complicated, but the execution coinflip is "bad XTB" for this one. Mostly tolerance issues. Parts painted but tabs don't account for it, tiny parts on sliding rods flexing over inflexible corners, and so on
