I finished RE:Village! I felt like some of the sections could've gone on a bit longer (like Lady D's castle). A lot of Village feels over before it even starts! I think I maybe prefer 7 just for the more focused structure but I still had a pretty great time with 8. Now, back to RE4R!

It lives! The SD card slot was the problem and a new part fixed it! I also bought a busted 2ds as a backup project to tinker with, so that I stop trying to improve this one. Not gonna touch that circle pad until it really truly breaks.

Beyond Citadel (like The Citadel before it) is full of sexual imagery and violence and how the two collide along with a deeply personal story and some of the best gun handling I've ever seen, making it one of the best shooters I've ever played and also impossible to recommend to anyone. I loved it.

Kinda refreshing for a game to just say "nah dog, you gotta be level 8 to beat this boss, get to grinding" Shortly after you meet a character who says "look I'm level 7 and you need to be at least level 6 before I'll work with you".

Somehow managed to break my 3ds while trying to swap out the control pad. I think I must have busted the SD card reader, because the card itself is fine, copied all the files to a brand new SD card, and even that one didn't work. And the system loads without an SD card in there.

Trying to think of the 9 most formative games is tough! I went in a more "first experience, long lasting impression" feeling that I usually compare a game to. Not all of these hold up (I would recommend a newer Story of Seasons or Etrian Odyssey) but I was absolutely obsessed with them for a time.

I made it about an hour into Resident Evil 6 before having to pull the eject lever. It might great in co-op but as a single player experience I was not having a great time!!! Onto Village next

Been playing through bits and pieces of a few Story of Seasons/Rune Factory games and think I've settled on Grand Bazaar as my main one for now. The weekend bazaar as the main focal point for all of your income is a really neat twist!

Finished up The Séance of Blake Manor just a few minutes ago and absolutely loved it! Detective games at their best make you feel like the smartest person in the world and Blake Manor fit my brain just right, solving clues, putting together pieces, and figuring out the truth. All around fantastic.

My most "controversial" Kirby opinion is that I don't love Super Star. All of the copy abilities having expanded move sets is great, but I find the modes mostly underbaked and over too quickly. Milky Way Wishes is my favorite, with the slow drip of permanent ability unlocks that you can hot swap.
