I’m glad i never gave into this advice, following this will make you burn out or even despise art after awhile. Pls draw what you want to draw and do it for yourself only. Draw because you want to not cause you want to appease a following.

yea, touch grass.. but also lay under a tree and look up at the light shimmering down on you. listen to the birds and the wind rhythmically rustling the leaves. notice the breeze as it rolls across your skin and feel the damp, cool touch of the earth as it holds you like it used to

I enjoy drawing kinks I'm not necessarily into for the same reason I like drawing bodies that look different than mine and enjoy reading stories nothing like mine. It's edifying to engage with others people's reality with enthusiastic curiosity.

i have so, so many furious things to say about this but just to scream about one: when corporations declare themselves able to decide what art is or not made specifically for getting off, they are absolutely going to use that power to target even the tamest of queer art first.

I’m not defending kickstarter by the way!! I would never defend a company. I would just like people to be correct about their info before having day long meltdowns and catastrophizing about the wrong targets. Dont waste your energy on the wrong target.

A little curiosity and focus will open up a world stretching back centuries that will shock you with how familiar it feels, how current and relatable its concerns are. Those people were humans just like you, and what they made is every bit as exciting as anything being made now!

Capitalism lives in the eternal "now". It doesn't want you to know about history, it doesn't want you to know art has existed for tens of thousands of years, it wants you slavering for whatever's coming NEXT, whatever's HOT and NEW, and ignoring everything else. You do not have to do this.

the first and second Wolf’s Rain OST were two of the first secular CD’s I ever owned, and they were precious treasures to me (I still have them). this song is so beautiful, but honestly, there isn’t a single song I dislike on either OST.

This song makes me cry still. In high school I torrented the OST and burnt it on the blank disks. Man would I daze off to the soundtracks to homework with my CD walkman and doodle my angst out.
